A wall mount for an iPad, or an Android tablet running Kiosk Satellite, the Android app for dedicated Home Assistant kiosks. The wall plate has an open center that fits over a recessed junction box, so a tablet that stays on all day can be powered from the wall. It slides out of the top when you want it in your hand.
- Landscape fits tablets 16.5 cm (6.5") wide or more. Portrait fits a short edge of 12 to 16.4 cm.
- Hole spacing for North American (3 9/32") and European (60 mm) boxes.
- Wall plate fixes with 2 screws or command strips if you don't need the box.
- Black or white.
Made in Canada.
Which iPads fit?
iPad mini fits the Portrait or Landscape option. iPad 10th gen, iPad Air, iPad Pro and any other iPad with a short edge of 16.5 cm or more use Landscape, even to hang it in portrait.
Can an iPad run Kiosk Satellite?
No. The app needs Android 7.0 or newer, and the project publishes a setup guide for Amazon Fire tablets. On an iPad, use the Home Assistant Companion app, with Guided Access to keep it on your dashboard.
Will the mount block the camera or the screen?
No. The mount sits behind the tablet, so nothing covers the front. That keeps the front camera clear for the app's motion and face detection, which wake the screen when someone walks up.
Why plan for power on a Kiosk Satellite tablet?
Kiosk Satellite has Voice Satellite built in, with wake word detection that works with the screen off, so the tablet stays busy around the clock. A recessed box puts power behind the tablet instead of running a cable down the wall. Check which side your charging port is on before you pick a position, and follow your local electrical code for any in-wall work.
This is a mount for the tablet, sold separately from the app. Worm Pop Labs isn't affiliated with Kiosk Satellite. Setup help is in the Kiosk Satellite documentation.
