TP-Link Omada / Ubiquiti Access Point Mounts and Stand Instructions
Install tips for TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi access point mounts and stands. If you are using your own mounting screws or plate, only the first section applies to you.
Using your own screws or plate
Remove any pre-installed adhesive strips first. Once the strips are off, the rest of this page does not apply — mount the unit however your hardware calls for.
Using the pre-installed adhesive strips
- Clean the back of the access point. Wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol or similar to remove oils and dust. Adhesive that lands on a dirty surface will let go later, so do not skip this.
- Optional — use the original back plate. Depending on the access point model and the mount type, you may need the mounting back plate that came with your AP. If so: mount the AP to the back plate first, then stick the back plate and AP together onto the adhesive.
- Press and hold. Firm, even pressure across the whole contact area gives the strips their bond.
Removing the access point later
Twist, do not pull
Twisting releases the adhesive far more easily than pulling straight off. There should be no residue left behind; if there is, rubbing alcohol cleans it off.
